In Red Square, in the heart of Moscow, it is one of the main Russian Orthodox churches. St. Basil`s Cathedral was built by Tsar Ivan the Terrible in honor of the glorious victory over the Kazan Khanate and the return of possessions in Kazan. Its construction lasted from 1555 by 1561. Central Church Cathedral was consecrated in honor of the great Orthodox feast of the Protection of the Mother of God, so the church has a second name - the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin.

The architecture of the temple is unique, the complex consists of nine different churches, mounted on a single base, basement. In summer, the church is open every day from 10:00 to 19:00, ticket office is open until 18:30. Output - Tuesday. And in the winter you can visit the Cathedral before 17:00. Adult entrance fee - 250 rubles, for pensioners, pupils and students, including foreigners, there is a discount ticket price - 100 rubles. The tour is best to book in advance on the site of the cathedral. Of course, it is possible to make an excursion right at the entrance, but it will cost more and take place at a certain time.

Red Square is easily accessible by metro, you can get out at the station "Revolution Square", "China Town" or "Okhotny Ryad". As soon as you step into the square, you will immediately see the brightly colored dome of the temple.
